Beloved Conversations
Children’s Chapel

Beloved Conversations is an experiential curriculum that provides a space to reform/refuse the brokenness of racism into new patterns of thought and behavior ushering in social and spiritual healing. New ways of being are learned through the actions of conversation and probing dialogue.  This year participants will have a chance to attend the kick-off retreat facilitated by the Rev. Leslie Takahashi and Linda Russell (to be held Friday evening January 26 and all day Saturday, January 27) and twice a month on Sundays.

10:40am -11:40
Winter Nights Orientation
Bortin Hall

All new Winter Nights volunteers must participate in the orientation which will be given by Reverend Neil Anderson. There will be another on Wednesday, March 21 @ 7:00 p.m. and an online video. Please try to attend one of the live presentations, as that allows for questions.

1:00pm -2:00
Sunday Salon: Timeless Truths for Troubled Times

Being with like-minded people in these troubled times is a critical strategy for ensuring resilience and rejuvenation. Also important is considering those sources of wisdom from our tradition that offer us the long view of history and inform the areas of change before us.

This class will be led by Lead Minister Rev. Leslie Takahashi, Minister for Engagement and Justice Rev. Neal Anderson and Intern Minister Natalie Malter, who was one of the editors of an important new two-volume set of core Unitarian, Universalist texts. What does our religious heritage have that can help sustain us in these timers? Come and join in this conversation-oriented examination of these questions.

Some of the topics anticipated are listed below (watch the Beacon and Friday email for updates):

January 14: Encountering Hope

February 11 and 25: “The Arc of the Moral Universe is Long”

March 25: Universalism—On Salvation and Justice
