September 11, 2011 - Repairing the World - Revs. Leslie and David Takahashi Morris and Intern Minister, Amy Moses-Lagos. The Jewish faith brings us the idea of Tikkun Olam or repairing the world. As we mark the tenth anniversary of the attack on the United States on September 11, 2001, where is our world and where are we in our relationship to it, for ultimately doesn’t repair of the world begin with attending to our relationship with ourselves? The service will be led by Revs. Leslie and David Takahashi Morris and Intern Minister, Amy Moses-Lagos.
Come spend some time in the waters of worship with speaker, Jodi Tharan, Starr King student, an active volunteer, and Admissions Coordinator, as we encounter together what richness there can be when we meet each other across differences. How do we weave lives of wholeness? Music, poetry and a “drash” (sermon) will offer each of us an opportunity to consider the strengths of Unitarian Universalism as a meeting place. Honoring the importance of place as people come together to bring more peace and love to this earth is at the center of this service. “Come, come, whoever you are…” the water is fine!
