CLAUDIA NYGAARD
Americana singer/songwriter Claudia Nygaard is a born storyteller with a quick wit and a fearless emotional vulnerability. She’s been described as “Will Rogers without the rope” for her affable connection with an audience. Her strength as a guitarist is matched by the power and warmth of her voice. "In her throw-back-to-the-50s, rich-toned alto, the artist tells story after honest story, making listeners chuckle, choke back tears, and sometimes just nod their head while her well-crafted pieces wash over them." --Janet Goodman, Music News Nashville JAIME MICHAELS The song. Ask Jaime Michaels what's the most important aspect of what he's been doing for the past few decades and that will be his answer. The song. It shows in the craftmanship of his tunes, in the care that he applies to each choice of word, each musical phrase. "Jaime Michaels occupies a zone somewhere between Paul Simon, Al Stewart, and Harry Chapin, all silhouetted by a purpling sunset on the horizon drawing down classic prairie, swamp, and Appalachian refrains ... HOUSTON JONES
Houston Jones is a Bay Area based high octane Americana quintet. Formed in 2001, the band performs a mostly original repertoire that ranges from bluegrass and folk to blues and gospel. The band features Glenn Houston (lead guitar), Travis Jones (lead vocal, acoustic guitar), Henry Salvia (keyboard, accordion), Chris Kee (standup bass, cello, acoustic guitar), and Peter Tucker (drums).
It's worth noting that Chris, Peter and Glenn are all alumni of the Waybacks. The band was voted “best discovery” and Travis Jones voted “best vocalist” at the Strawberry Music Festival. Glenn was voted "Best Guitarist” for 2009 by the Northern California Bluegrass Society. More than seventy radio stations across the U.S. and Canada have Houston Jones on their playlist.
Houston Jones has released five CDs on the Summerhill label, and was the subject of a six page feature article in the January/February 2010 issue of Dirty Linen magazine. The lads have recently completed recording their sixth CD, of all-original music, slated for release in the very near future.
“A wonderful gem of a band…truly exceptional music…wonderful original tunes…some brought tears to our eyes. These guys are a rare treat!” – Billboard.com
"As good as any singing and picking I've heard in my thirty years in the music business. Do your friends a big favor, and turn them on to this band!"- Bob Brown, Owner, Rancho Nicasio, and manager, Huey Lewis and the News |

EMMA'S REVOLUTION
Dancing on the edge of folk and pop, there’s a revolution: emma’s revolution. “Bold, profound, moving, hilarious and transformative.” The sound of passion in “deftly-turned phrases,” songs imbued with hope, warmth and the “power and drive” to turn tears into laughter, cynicism into action.

PAUL KAMM & ELEANORE MACDONALD Modern folk musicians Paul Kamm and Eleanore MacDonald, from Nevada City, CA., have been writing and performing original, contemporary folk music for 28 years. A blend of contemporary and traditional styles, their music is graced by exquisite harmony, compelling songwriting, deceptively simple arrangements and intricate guitar work… all embraced by great heart. They’ve been applauded throughout the US as well as overseas for the lyrical content of their songs and vocal blend…a haunting style which weaves unique harmonies into a rich tapestry of guitar work and storytelling. LAURA ZUCKER Laura Zucker's accessible and compelling songs are evocative observations of matters of the heart and of the world. An Eas Coast transplant, Lafayette-based Zucker returned to the world of music after a 20-year hiatus. She recorded her first CD "Left Foot Forward" in the spring of 2006, "A Step Ahead" in 2008, and began winning awards almost immediately, including the Second Grand Prize in the West Coast Songwriters International Song Contest in April 2006 and Best Song awards from the West Coast Songwriters in 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2010. Her music video for "Memorial Day" rose to #7 on Neil Young's "Living With War Today" videos page on YouTube. She has twice been a finalist at the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival, "NewFolk" songwriting competition, and the Mountain Stage "NewSong" contest. In her latest CD, "By the Refinery Lights," Laura's songs continue to appeal to the intellect. The descriptions are pithy and concise, and so more precisely communicate and persuade. They don't dumb down. Laura's no-frills style delivers the truth straight up right to your heart and soul. The lyrics are compelling, while the music can take you spiritually and emotionally to the right place all by itself. The songs on By The Refinery Lights tell the stories of various "others," inhabiting those "others" in a way that lets the listener do the same. The musical style is direct: the strong, clear vocals, meticulous fingerpicking are set in arrangements that strike the perfect balance, inviting you into the story, into the song. To sharpen the senses. To sooth the weary hear. To nourish the parched spirit.
