There is a place I go every week
this place high up on a hill
this place of brick and wood and glass that shines light onto the valley below
this place that does not fear the life of the mind or the search for truth
this place where it is permissible to feel deep grief and great sorrow
and give and get love and teach and learn lessons
and celebrate life's profound moments
this place that strengthens families and friendships
and respects diversity
and honors companionship
and preaches acceptance
and promotes peace
this place with art on the walls and children in the halls and music in the air
this place of honor and principle, of sunlight and rain
this place of life.
This place, this place, our place.
This is our place.
This is the Mount Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church.
