Nancy and her partner Patrice joined MDUUC in 2007, drawn by the church's commitment to social justice.  Nancy organized MDUUC's "NO on 8" activism, served in 2008-09 as a mentor in the Coming of Age program and is acting advisor to the youth group, YRUU.

What is the meaning of life?

What is our purpose?

How can I make a difference?

What does MDUUC mean to me?

I've never been  in another spiritual community where my eclectic tastes and love of diverse spiritual communion is as accepted and celebrated as it is here.

I come here to quiet the turbulence, to ask the questions, to find my center.

I've never been  in another spiritual community where my eclectic tastes and love of diverse and rich relationships  allows and encourages me to stand and work  side by side  with all of you, regardless of our age or beliefs.

I come here to be a part of blessed community.

I've never been in another spiritual community where my eclectic and diverse core concerns and passions can all have an outlet and be acted upon.  Whether it is feeding the hungry, civil rights and equality, mentoring our youth, or protecting the earth

This community lends voices, hands and hearts to my core beliefs and passions, to those things that get me up  and out and give my day purpose.

I come here to be energized and to engage in our social action ministry.

MDUUC is, for me, a happy place.
