The New UU class is for those who wish to know more about Mt. Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church (MDUUC). Newcomers, people who have recently joined, people considering membership, and long-term members who want to deepen their understanding of the church are all welcome. While the class is not required prior to joining the church, most new members attend.

The class is led by our Ministers and presented by the Membership Committee.  The New UU class is held several times a year either on a Saturday morning or on two weekday evenings. Refreshments are included and childcare is provided. There is no charge for this class, but we ask people to register in advance so we have a count for refreshment and the correct number of caregivers for children.

The New UU class is an orientation to this congregation and its programs, and to our Unitarian Universalist tradition, theology and organization.  The curriculum includes a brief presentation of our Unitarian and Universalist roots, principles and theology; conversations about MDUUC, its programs and structure; and the rights and responsibilities of membership.

At the conclusion of the class, participants have the opportunity to sign the membership book if they are ready to become members.

Newcomers who take part in the New UU class appreciate the opportunity to get to know the Ministers and the other class participants who are new to the Congregation.

Check our Calendar for the date of the next New UU Class. Snacks are served and childcare is available by advance reservation. Contact the church office to RSVP.  If you have questions, please email us at or call 934-3135.
