Beautiful Location for Memorials
The Mt. Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church in Walnut Creek offers a welcoming and convenient setting which may be rented for a memorial service. The sanctuary is welcoming to people of all faiths, and the adjacent Bortin Fellowship Hall provides a lovely location for a reception. The entire site is wheelchair accessible.

The Sanctuary
The MDUUC Sanctuary is a beautiful space for honoring a departed loved one. Equipped with a sound system and a Steinway grand piano, it accommodates 300 people on comfortable upholstered chairs. The view windows overlook a garden, towering trees and Walnut Creek below. There are no religious symbols. Although food and beverages may not be consumed in the Sanctuary, they are welcomed in the Bortin Hall, along the art gallery and on the patio.

Fellowship Hall for Receptions
The Bortin Fellowship Hall is a bright, welcoming space for a reception. It can be set in many different configurations at tables or as grouped seating. It includes a stage, convenient access to the kitchen, and a view patio overlooking the redwood grove.

Outdoor Spaces
For small memorials, an alternative site is the Brick Patio and redwood gazebo set between the church's education buildings [not pictured]. The Memorial Garden (pictured left) is a beautiful outdoor space for solemn ceremonies.
