The Mt.Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church in Walnut Creek offers a beautiful and convenient setting for weddings, meetings, performances and other events. Rooms of various sizes are available to non-profit and community service organizations for conferences. The Bortin Fellowship Hall can be set up with tables, or as theatre seating for up to 335, and has a grand piano. Small groups may prefer the Children's Chapel, which also has a piano. The entire site is wheelchair accessible, and there is free Wi-Fi access from most locations.

Sanctuary

 
 
 
 

A beautiful space for a formal program or a musical performance using the Steinway grand piano. The Sanctuary includes the use of the adjoining patio, a commercial grade kitchen, and two small rooms by the entrance. The west windows overlook Walnut Creek.  Accommodating 300 people on comfortable upholstered chairs, the Sanctuary includes no religious symbols. Food and beverages may not be consumed in the Sanctuary, but they are allowed in the adjacent Bortin Hall, the gallery, and on the patio.

Bortin Fellowship Hall

 
 
 
 
 

The Bortin Fellowship Hall is our largest space, seating up to 335 people in rows,  200 at tables or 581 for a standing event such as a reception . We offer several alternative plans for seating at round or square tables. Bortin Hall offers convenient access to the kitchen,  and a lovely adjacent patio with a view overlooking the redwood grove. A large meeting room that accommodates 60 people, the Children's Chapel has an upright piano and flexible seating arrangements. It is often used along with the adjacent small meeting rooms.

Small Meeting Rooms

 
 

MDUUC offers a variety of small rooms for meetings. The best space for audio-visual presentation is the OWL Room, a comfortable meeting space for up to 40 people. It is suitable for audio-visual presentation and for seating at tables. The Oak Room and Sequoia Room are small meeting rooms or classrooms for up to 20 people. The Fireside Room (pictured left), which accommodates up to 15 people, is a very comfortable room with fireplace and arm chairs.

Outdoor Areas

 
 

The Memorial Garden (pictured left) is a beautiful outdoor space for small weddings, child dedications or other solemn ceremonies. There is also a brick patio and redwood gazebo (not pictured) for small weddings or occasions.

All spaces are handicapped accessible, and building use includes our parking lot, with 125 parking spaces, including 5 handicapped. Additional parking is available along Eckley Lane.
